Just a note to say thank you to everyone for all of your e-mails and prayers these past months. I’m surprised and flattered that many of you still think of me and pop by my blog to see if there are any updates. I haven’t posted any because as I mentioned previously, this pregnancy has made me very sick and many things have taken a back seat, especially time spent online. For many months I could not work a regular work schedule, often spent days in bed, and spent many days going back and forth to doctors with each new illness I contracted as my immune system took a dive. Things still aren’t quite back to normal, but I’m happy to report that my immune system is recovering and I am doing much better. However, I am still very fatigued.

Oh, and I have a fractured ankle. A slip and fall on some wet grass one morning has added a new layer of complications and inconvenience to these difficult months.

I hesitated to post an update since I don’t want to give the impression that I’ll be returning to blogging anytime soon. We have a beloved baby who will be arriving in just 3 and a half months, and there is still much to do around our home. Rooms are still being built. Floors still need to be finished. Items are being boxed up and moved to make room for our newest family member. Furniture needs to be purchased. If we thought we were busy before, well!

But I still concede that summer is my favorite season, and when people exclaim to me how difficult it must be to pregnant during the summer all I can think is that they must not know how much I truly hate winter. In the summer, it’s hot whether you are pregnant or not. But in the winter, I can never get warm enough! I hope all of you are enjoying your summer and that you are able to experience the blessings that this season has to offer.

  1. I am totally with you about loving summer!!

  2. So glad to hear that things are looking up. We do miss your blogging but first things first - imagine in just about 3 months you will be holding your baby.

  3. So sorry to hear about your ankle. Yes it is a busy time and thank you for the update. We look forward to seeing pictures of the littlest member of your family. How exciting! It'll all be worth it.

Have you attempted any gardening this summer... don't expect so.

Still praying that all goes well and that you have a healthy and happy baby.

  4. Monica, thank you so much for the update. You're certainly having a memorable pregnancy. I'm with you regarding summer. In fact I moved to Florida for that very reason. BTW, both my babies were born in September, so I've experienced summertime pregnancies. I've missed you, but understand the need to take care of yourself, baby and the home front. I'll be looking forward to your next update.

  5. Monica, it is so great to get the update! Thanks very much. I've been sending you my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear about your ankle. May you get better each day, and may God bless you and your family.

    In Friendship,

  6. Monica :-) Loved my summer pregnancies (2 of them) and really disliked being prego in the winter. So afraid I'd fall .. but then again .... *sigh* I'm SO glad you are doing better!

  7. So good to hear from you. Summer has been lovely and I'm glad to know you are enjoying it. I keep you in my daily prayers.

  8. I´ve been thinking about you lately, wondering how you are doing; I hope everything is going as planned, and that you are getting bigger by the day and feeling well at the same time! I guess you are very excited about seeing your baby´s tiny face! Lots of hugs :-)

  9. We all hope you're doing OK. My daughter is also expecting her first little one. So exciting! Hope to hear from you soon.

I love hearing from you. Please share your comment.
